National Disaster Consciousness Month

In August 1999, then-President Joseph Ejercito Estrada declared the whole month of July every year as the National Disaster Consciousness Month. This is an upgrade from Proclamation No. 296 in 1988 that only recognized the first week of July. The month provides national government agencies and local government units enough time to implement their disaster awareness campaigns.
