Once upon a time, we lived in a world where you had to comb through an actual book to find the contact information of a person or business. Staying up-to-date with current affairs meant watching the news live and reading the Sunday newspaper. Face-to-face interaction meant actually standing in front of each other and in order to be heard, people had to take to the streets or put the mighty pen to paper. Anthropogenic climate change was a myth and Google wasn’t a verb. Everything is constantly changing, and so we must evolve if we want to fortify our home planet and keep our humanity intact.

Sustainability

People with similar core values centered by the love for Mother Nature will always find ways to come together and generate movement on her behalf.

Knowledge

Knowledge gains power when we actively share it and validate it, keeping us grounded and making sure that we’re collectively moving in the right direction.

Technology

Imagine what highly motivated individuals with free access to an efficient knowledge base and a supportive community can accomplish.

Nationalism

In the wake of countless disasters and calamities, we as a nation are resilient like the Narra Tree; embracing what that means in this context is one step forward.

It is understood that these SDGs are not independent from each other. Our main focus might be SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), but we also touch SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 15 (Life On Land).

Why is this important?

Why is this important?

By creating and participating in this space, we can perpetuate in an alternative method of eco-activism: in the form of knowledge sharing and community building.

As part of the working middle class, we know the struggle and have experienced the judgment that comes with going green. Many of us want to take action, but we understand that it can be expensive and time-consuming.  Not everyone has the privilege to go zero waste overnight. Like everything, there’s a learning curve; for some, it’s shallow, and for others steep. It takes trial and error. It costs money. We want to let you know from the bottom of our hearts that it’s okay if you’re not there yet.

Which is where we come in —  providing options and backing them with research and stories from the ground. It’s ambitious, we know, but it’s important. This way, we can make informed choices and choose sustainability over consumerism and apathy, not because we were guilt-tripped or are following a trend, but because we know what’s right.
